Services

Below youll find descriptions of the services I offer. My rates and turnaround times depend on the details of each unique project; head over to my contact page to request a quote! I’d love to work with you.

I offer a select number of sliding scale slots to members of communities that are underrepresented in traditional publishing, including BIPOC, disabled, and LGBTQ+ creators. If you are a member of one of these groups and my quoted price is not within your means, please let me know. I'm happy to discuss whether there's a cost that will suit both our needs. And if you don't know if this will apply to you or not, please reach out anyway! I'd love to start the conversation. I strive to make the publishing industry more accessible to all.

Developmental Editing

Take your draft to the next level. In an in-depth editorial letter, I reflect back my reading experience and include concrete suggestions for where and how you could further develop concept, themes, characters, plot and pacing, worldbuilding, and/or narrative voice: This is your road map to revision. In-margin notes on your manuscript show you my real-time reactions and clarify exactly where those overarching notes are coming from, as well as giving some suggestions about style and voice.

If you’re in an early stage, an editorial-letter-only developmental edit (no margin comments) can be an economical option to tackle big-picture, structural edits first.

Always includes a one-hour follow-up call to address any of your questions, brainstorm solutions, and discuss your next steps.

Line editing

A thorough line-by-line read to show you where your words are working and where they can be improved. I make suggestions not just for clarity and correctness, but for voice and effectiveness to make sure you’re communicating exactly what you want to.

Copyediting

Correctness, consistency, clarity: Let me check for errors and streamline your styling and formatting.

Proofreading

I’ll polish your manuscript to a high shine right before publication. I have an eagle eye for punctuation, typos, and missing words (and love to browse the Chicago Manual of Style and spend time in Merriam-Webster Unabridged!).

Book Coaching

I take on a select number of clients for book coaching: monthly meetings to pursue your goals and develop a project or your writing over time, or one-off sessions to brainstorm past obstacles and lend my professional advice. If we’ve worked together before, reach out to me for more details.
